Terms of Service
Last updated: 11 May 2026 · Version 0 — pre-launch placeholder pending legal review
By creating an account on or otherwise using eUvidence, you agree to these Terms. They form a contract between you and eUvidence Health, Paris, France ("we", "us").
1. What eUvidence is — and is not
eUvidence is an information retrieval and synthesis service over published, peer-reviewed medical literature. It is intended for verified healthcare professionals to support literature search and synthesis tasks.
eUvidence is not a medical device under EU MDR. It has not been certified as such, and we make no claim of regulatory approval. Outputs are summaries of published research, not clinical decision support, not a diagnosis, not a treatment recommendation. You retain full clinical responsibility for any patient care decision.
2. Who can use the service
The service is intended for verified healthcare professionals. By signing in you confirm that this describes you. The onboarding screen records your acknowledgement of the regulatory positioning above; you cannot enter the product without ticking that box.
3. Acceptable use
Use the service for its intended purpose: clinical literature search and synthesis for your own professional work. Do not:
- present eUvidence outputs to patients or third parties as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendation;
- attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or caps;
- submit content you do not have the right to submit, or that contains identifying patient data outside what is strictly necessary;
- use the service to build a competing literature-synthesis product, or to scrape sources at scale.
4. Accuracy and limitations
We work to retrieve high-quality peer-reviewed sources and to ground every claim in a cited paper. Language models can still make mistakes — misattributed citations, mistaken generalisation, out-of-date evidence. Verify any clinically meaningful claim against the source paper before acting on it.
5. Your data
The handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. By using the service you accept the data handling described there.
6. Pricing and subscriptions
The service is currently provided free of charge to invited users. If we introduce a paid plan, you will be told before any charge is made, and the existing terms (cancel any time, handled by Stripe) will apply.
7. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend access if these Terms are breached or if your usage threatens the integrity of the service. We will give you reasonable notice unless the breach makes notice impractical.
8. No warranty; liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is", without warranty of fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for clinical outcomes that result from your use of eUvidence outputs in patient care; clinical responsibility stays with the treating clinician.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by French law. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Paris, France, save where mandatory consumer-protection rules say otherwise.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced inside the application; the date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
